Is she really?

I know that you all have to agree that Reagan is super extra smart. But that's the thing, you HAVE to agree. It's not like you are going to say "Kate, she is just normal." And I know as her mom and dad, Brian and I are biased. So are all of her Grandparents! So, my question is......

Is Reagan really smart, or just normal? I feel that a 19 month old that can do all her ABC's and now count to 12 almost by herself is pretty smart. She is even working on her opposites and can say down is the opposite of up. So I guess I just want to know how you find out if you child is extra smart. I mean, she does go to the preschool, but she is only there a few hours a month. I think they think she is smart, but they have older children (turning 2) in her same group, so compared to them, she may not look extra smart. She just may be their equal and the teachers don't realize that Reagan is much younger. I guess it really doesn't matter if she is smart, but I would like a guide or something to know if she is advanced. I wish I had a friend who had a girl the exact same age as Reagan so I could compare the two, but no such luck. I have read stuff on line, but they make so many general statements, like "Some children at this age may be learning their ABC's." Ok, Reagan KNOWS her ABC's and knows what a lot of the letters look like and can tell you. So is that LEARNING her ABC's or has she already learned them. You see what I am saying?

Now this post is not so you guys can tell me how smart my kid is, because I know you all think that, but of course you do. You love me and Reagan and even if she was not speaking and drooled all the time, you would say she is smart. I guess in the whole big picture, it really doesn't matter if she is smart now, because other kids her age could catch up to her by the time school starts and then she won't seem like a genius anymore. I know I am rambling on, sorry.
