Weathering the Storm

Ok - this post has been ALONG time coming. As I'm sure none of you will be surprised - I HAVE SOO MUCH to BLOG about and it seems to just be piling up - so forgive me if this ends up feeling like just a PURGE of information!!!

I've started training again for another half marathon at the end of March - this time it will be in Knoxville - so, not too far away! My left BIG toenail has FINALLY fallen off since I ruined it during the last half marathon. Now, I just have to wait for the two on my right foot to fall off. Right now it looks like I just had a beautiful purple pedicure!

No real news with the Lokster - he isn't crawling, yet. He CAN sort of but scoot around - which is pretty funny to watch and he's going to be a chatty chet - he talks non-stop - though none of it makes any sense at this point.

The bus is now BLACK! It looks REALLY cool. I'm VERY happy with it. Now we just have to finish up the logo design for the outside of it and get that put on. We also FINALLY got a storage space for it - so it's not sitting in my in-laws yard anymore. I also have some GREAT business cards that I need to send out to you all! They're pretty cute! Our website should be done in a couple of weeks, too.

Last year, just after we purchased this house and before we moved in - we had Loki's baby shower here. At the end of this stressful event, the plumbing for the house EXPLODED in the front yard. It was obviously a pre-existing condition that we were not made aware of. I cried!
Apparently, all of our pipes in our front yard and leading out to the city drain are terra-cotta and get easily clogged by root matter.

So, the city came and cleared out their section and replaced the terra cotta with PVC and all was well with the world until last week. You see, we never replaced our side of the piping - hoping that letting the city do their work would be enough. And it WAS - for almost a year!!! And then last week after our shower started overflowing (ironic that both problems occured during or after a shower), Whitebread checked the front yard and AGAIN, the plumbing exploded. So, my sweet husband spent the ENTIRE weekend digging a HUGE ditch in our front yard to replace the old terra cotta. So, it's all better now but we still have a MASSIVE hole in the front yard because it's been too cold to fill it in.

My sister has just recovered from tonsilitis, the mumps AND mono - ALL at the same time. She had her mumps vaccination but STILL got it. And this only fuels my no-vaccine FIRE. Though my tune may still change down the road.

And this moring after spending a NIGHTMARE of an hour on the phone with what I'm hoping will be our health insurance company (after 3 previous phone calls - getting the run around each time) - a geeky gentleman rings our doorbell and SERVES me with papers!!! I'm being sued by the STUPID contractors who remodeled our attic (and didn't complete all of the terms of the contract) - AND ruined our hardwood floors in the process AND stole our entire DVD collection.

So, needless to say, I'm a little on edge.

I made a WHOPPING $800 last month with my new sales job that I'm suddenly considering giving up - lol.

BUT - I think we'll be OK! We've weathered worst storms than this and with ALOT less optimism.

Maybe, I never you told you how broke we were when we got to San Fran - and couldn't find jobs right away. But it all worked out!

So, I'm sure it will this time, too. In fact, I feel better just being able to post this! Thanks for listening ladies (or reading, rather).

It's the support from viewers like you that make this show possible!!!

Bunn Lovin's to all!

Ok, drop that job! When we talked about it weeks ago, you were feeling icky, listen to your gut. Although, $800 is more thjan I made at my job last month. Hahaha!! As for the hole in the yard, just wait till summer, it will fill up with water and you will have made a baby pool for Loki! As for Loki, be glad he isn't crawling. I know everyone says that to you and you are like, "shut up, I just want him to crawl" but really, it's a good thing. How about some pictures of said bus and baby!?

Hows - sounds like life is crazy and super busy for you. Yeah...I think it might be good to keep your eyes out for a different job. You are too good Hows!!!! At least until the bus tours get rolling. Hang in there with plumbing and those silly contractors. I know it will work out for you. Since your dad is a judge...maybe he can help or knows someone that can, you know? Yes, I second Kate's request for pics of bus and the Lokester :o).
Life sure can be difficult and crazy but, one thing is for sure...I am glad we can share our different and crazys together as the "stetson 6". Love you All! XOXOX - Krames
