My Mump-alicious Munchkin

OY! And I mean it, too! OY!

It has been a LONG, trying few weeks. It seems like illness seems to be running rampant through our family tree. It starts at one end and by the time the last one's recover, the first one's are sick again.

Our immediate family is typically immune to these viral cycles. We just seem to have pretty strong constitutions. But Loki has been side swiped TWICE now.

He got the dreaded Norwalk Virus, that hit EVERYONE in our family with the exception of WB, Elora and I. But luckily, he was only down for about half a day. And NOW, he has the MUMPS.

That's right...the MUMPS! Oh, it's terrible...well, actually, it's not that bad. What's terrible is the thought that Whitebread and I gave it to him. Well, OK, we didn't really GIVE it to him, but we feel like we may as well have given it to him since we didn't vaccinate him against it.

Or atleast that was our initial knee jerk reaction. We chose not to vaccinate conscientiously. Mumps really isn't that bad of a malady. In fact, Loki is such a trooper. He looks just miserable (as evidenced by attached photos), but he's been in a GREAT mood. Now don't get me wrong, he is definitely sick. And does have a bit of trouble getting comfortable enough to go to sleep, but compared to that nasty Norwalk Virus, this is a walk in the park.

Here's hoping that you and yours are Virus FREE!

Last happenings here

Things are going well here. Becca is starting to be more alert and sleep more at night. Thank goodness! I was getting to my wits end. Lack of sleep does not look good on me :P.
We are still pumping and feeding her breast milk in bottles. Her latch is terrible and after a few nursing sessions it hurts so much that I cry...then she cries....terrible cycle.

We have our two month old appt tomorrow along with her first round of vaccinations. I am not looking forward to the shots but I do want to see how much she has grown!
Don't know if I got to tell any of you but my request to work two days a week at home was denied. I had several meltdowns that day. I know I have to work (for a lot of reasons) but I really wanted those two days, ya know? The office agreed to be "flexible" so that is good. I also heard that the office is going to be restructured and some people will be laid off soon--so I am not going to complain!

We put an offer on a townhouse yesterday. They counter offered today but then let us know the additions to the house were not done with the proper permits and stuff. Bummer...we really liked the townhouse. Oh well, we will keep looking...

Here is our little munchkin smiling. It took me so long to get this picture cause she would stop smiling to check out the camera!

FINALLY...It's Our Turn!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;o)

So, here is a picture of Baby Cooper...this is 8 weeks and he/she looks like a little peanut but, Baby Cooper is actually the size of a lime right now since we are a little over 12 weeks. I have another ultrasound scheduled this Thursday.
Things are going great. I have not had any sickness. A little tired at times but, not having that anymore. I am feeling great! I am looking forward to being able to "feel" pregnant. I know that sounds funny but, I am excited to be able to feel the little one moving around. It will feel more real then ;o). Kirk and I and our families are still on cloud 9...we are so thrilled and blessed. We are definitely excited to be parents together and looking forward to it. I have heard many people say wonderful things about parenthood and my favorite so far is: "It only gets better from here..."

That is definitely the outlook Kirk and I are taking. I will keep you posted buds!!! XOXO to you all!

I took the plunge

Well, I at least dipped my toes in....I finally opened an Etsy shop. It is something that I have contemplated doing for quite awhile, but I finally did it today. I have only listed my felt popcorn because it is hard to take good pictures in the dark house. Eventually, I will try and sell my hair clips, more felt food, tutu's and necklaces. I hope to make a little cash money to have my own spending cash.

I am going down tomorrow to have lunch with the preggers, then we are going to Ikea to buy furniture for the front room. We are getting rid of the bed (and some of the toys if I have anything to say about it) and putting in a couch and bookcase. The couch will make into a bed, so everyone can still visit!!! We are going to put our desk in there so the room will really be an office/craft/play room. I am excited because I will be able to craft and Reagan can play in there and I won't feel like I am neglecting her. I am also super excited to get my dining room table back!

Check out my Etsy store and keep a look out for things to come: www.etsy.com/shop/katiesklips
