Happy Thanksgiving

So, what are you doing for Thanksgiving?

As you may know, Reagan, Brian and I are heading north to TN to see the Bunn clan. We are really excited and can't wait to leave. I wish we were already on the road. I just checked the weather and it is going to be nice and chilly up there, which will be a nice change from HOT down here.

I am so thankful for the a healthy family, beautiful and smart daughter, the best friends, a great business and a pretty decent life. Thank you all for being a part of our life.

Induction tenatively scheuled

As you all know, I have a big ol baby in my belly! Last week they estimated the baby to be about 7lbs 5oz--last week! I believe my Dr. is afraid of "Gigantor". I hope if it is a boy, that nickname doesn't stick!

I saw the Dr. again today and I am doing well. He doesn't want me to go past my due date so we scheduled the induction for Dec 2nd/3rd. The plan is--if labor and delivery isn't full, I will go in the night of Dec 2nd and start the drugs that I need to induce. I will start the Pitocin on Thursday and hopefully be a mom before the day is out!

My parents are so excited as they already have a flight arriving on the 2nd! Alanna is scheduling her flight now.
We are going to pack the hospital bag this weekend, just in case he/she comes early.

It is really getting close. I am excited, nervous, anxious and happy all at the same time.

Halloween Hauntings!

WOW! The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of insanity in the Bunn household.

We've been SUPER busy with Ghost Story Tours for our Bus Tour Company that we haven't had time to do much else.

I am excited to report that we did pretty well. The last two weeks of October were pretty full and we even SOLD OUT one night!!!

Halloween night we had a private charter for some high school girls. Our task was to take them from Johnson City out to a party in Piney Flats (yes, it is every bit of the middle of nowhere that it sounds).

Well, we decided to up the ante a bit and with the help of some friends, we staged a zombie attack of the bus on our way out there. It was SPECTACULAR. The bus "broke down" and we had to pull over into an abandoned park that sat beneath a large electric tower. The picture to the right is one of our female zombies that night!

Whitebread played the part of the dutiful bus driver charged with saving us all! In the middle of the attack, he pulled a chain-less chainsaw out from under one of the bus seats and set out to desecrate the souls of the undead!

It was really well scripted. By the side of the bus two zombies ate the guts out of another zombie (which just happened to be my dad). The guts were panty hose filled with cherry jello. It was rather realistic!

At the same time a VERY frightening zombie kept trying to get the door of the bus open - I nearly wet my pants trying to keep it closed and one of the girls in the back of the bus DID wet her pants! It was HILARIOUS!

We did not take our kids Trick or Treating. But they did get dressed up. Our town hosts a "Trick or Treat" on Walnut street - where all the businesses hand out candy to kids the day before Halloween. We drove the bus down to that and handed out candy in the parking lot. Loki and Elora (I mean Top Gun Tom Cruise and Little Ms. Strawberry) helped. There were SOO many kids, that even though we had purchased nearly $50 worth of candy - we ran out before it was over.

I'm still off dairy - BUMMER (as Loki would say). I keep testing small amounts of dairy to see if Elora can tolerate it and so far, the answer is NO. I'm hoping she'll out grow this. Otherwise, it's going to be a LONG year of breastfeeding (if she makes it that long - or perhaps I should say, if I make it that long)!

As noted above, Loki is talking up a STORM. It's RIDICULOUS. He's also getting into "parrot mode" where he repeats anything and everything he hears. It's rather amusing, until Whitebread or I forget that he's listening and blurt out a curse word. We've really got to watch our language. I'm sure the daycare teachers would not approve of our toddler cursing at them.

We hosted my Grandma's 85th birthday party on Sunday. It was such a rockin' good time that she passed out and we had to call the life squad! She stayed in the hospital for a few days but is home now. They think she was having a reaction to some of her meds. It makes us all very happy that she moved down here.

And I thought I should share that Elora and I received a fun little package in the mail - days before I ruined my Surprise 30th Birthday Party.

The package was GREAT! 30 little black Lost State Tour buses! I may put this picture up on our Facebook page! And a secret message to boot!

Elora got the CUTEST tutu EVER (there will be many more pictures of her in this)! Stay tuned...

Whitebread tried to throw me a Surprise Roller Skating Party as a belated 30th Birthday present. While it would have been AWESOME for sure, the timing is really bad with everything we've got going on - that and at this point, I'm kind of over my 30th. It's just a little anti-climactic 3 months later. But hey, there's always 33 right? (I'm not ignoring 31 or 32 but by 33, I'm thinking that I can party without the worry of needing to look after Many Small Children - cause they will all be able to take care of themselves by then, right?) :D

Vegas

Here are pictures from our Vegas trip. We had such a good time, spent quality time together (much needed) and didn't lose any money! I actually won $200, and then treated myself to the spa at the Bellagio. We saw Bette Midler and the Cirque show, Mystere. We walked to all the hotels we could get to and they were all so awesome. I think we will definately go back. It would be fun if we could all go together some time. It was a great trip.

This is our room at Caesars Palace. We stayed here one night, mostly because they had a package, get a night and 2 tickets to Bette.

This is our view from the Bellagio. The Bellagio was a newer and nicer hotel, we liked both, but I liked Bellagio better.

Here were are on the strip, looks like it's Paris behind us, but it's actually the hotel Paris. I would stay there next time. It was really cool inside and actually looked like you were walking on Paris streets.

This is taken at the top of the Eifel tower at the hotel Paris. It is 1/2 the size of the actual Eifel tower. I was not a fan of being up that high. The whole thing kinda moved every once and a while. No thank you!

Sick, Skin & Skates

The fall colors are definitely starting to pop in our neck of the woods and there is a serious chill in the air up here. I seriously LOVE fall.

What I don't love is sickness! Loki came down with his first REAL sickness last week. Overall, I would call Loki a pretty healthy kid. In fact, he didn't come down with a cold until he started daycare. And then (SIGH), he became one of those snot nosed daycare children. The kind with the eternal runny nose. I know it's good for him (especially since he's not vaccinated), but it's annoying that it NEVER seems to go away.

The cold wasn't a big deal and he seemed to deal well with it, but then he developed this weird seal like cough - we figured it was just Croup. He seemed to be fine during the day. So, we took him to daycare Monday and they sent him right back home again by 11 AM with a fever. We kept breaking the fever, but the damn thing kept right on coming back for a couple of days! The trickiest thing about this virus (aside from it's persistence and the fact that it was the first REAL virus Loki's gotten), was that I couldn't cuddle with him every minute of the day because I had to nurse Elora. There is nothing sadder (or more stressful) than watching your sick child cry and try to climb on top of his little sister just to get lap access which he was denied. But I am happy to report that we all weathered the storm and life is looking a little brighter on this side of things!

In other health related news, our children seem to be host to a variety of skin related ailments. Elora has had a nasty combination of baby acne and cradle cap. My midwives suggested that I give up dairy to see if that makes a difference. Well, her skin has cleared up (there is a chance that it would have done this on it's own - so it's difficult to say if the two are related) but we have also noticed that she is less gassy and uncomfortable when I don't eat dairy. So, I don't eat dairy. And let me just tell you - it is VERY difficult to give up dairy. You wouldn't believe how many products have dairy in them. I figured it would be pretty easy to give it up (except for the ice cream part). Well, I have developed a serious respect for people with dietary restrictions - imagine not being able to eat gluten! Whew! I'm counting my blessing!

Loki's skin issues are FAR more minor - just a touch of diaper rash that in more persistent cases, we treat with nudity! (Whitebread does not approve of the attached photo - but did not forbid me to include it - :D - personally, I find it HILARIOUS and GREAT ammo for any future tormenting with girlfriends!)

I seriously didn't intend for this to be an all health post - but it's what's going on in our world right now. I'm becoming quite the herbalist.

FYI ~ our doctor recommended Elderberry extract, in case any of us come down with the flu. It's supposed to be VERY effective - so, we've stocked up and we're trying to make sure that we're all strong enough to avoid a debilitating episode.

We've started our Ghost Tours and they're going pretty well. We haven't done many of them, yet. We do have alot scheduled for the weekend before Halloween and the weekend of Halloween. In fact, we've got a charter Halloween night for a group of 15 & 16 year old girls. We're driving them out to a party WAY out in the country and just to spice things up a bit, we're organizing a zombie attack of the bus! I'm excited and nervous. It should be a good time.

Since we don't have a tour this evening, I think I'm going to take the kids to a Roller Derby Scrimmage. This is seriously one of the coolest things to do in our town. I'd LOVE to be a roller derby girl. I even picked out a name - "Rainbow Fright"! Unfortunately, there just isn't enough time in the day for me to get involved...YET! :)

Baby Bump--and other tidbits

I know I complained I didn't get a baby bump, but now I am huge! This is 29.5 weeks along. Large and in charge--more photos on Facebook. :)
I had a great time at my family baby shower--my Aunt Linda went totally overboard! We played fun games, eat a lot and got too many gifts...I have a ton thank yous to write!
It was so great to spend time with my family all together. We had such a good time that I want to move back to Ohio--then I remembered it snows there....we will be rethinking that! HA

Had a Dr. appt this week--all is well, even the swollen ankles! Hee hee. I now go every 2 weeks to the Dr. My weight is good and my blood pressure is normal--good news! The baby loves to stay on my right side and sometimes hide under my ribs.

We have been house hunting and found one we like. It is a town house but we have a few more we are going to see. I am pretty nervous about buying...it is a big step!

Sean is still loving his job. He just got transferred to a smaller office for a few months. This is standard and he starts there on Monday.
